Radical Something

Plays.IO Interview Read
Hey guys! Thank you for doing this interview with us!

Hey! Glad to be here with y’all.

Congratulations on your new single/video, Cali Get Down! How has your audience receive the new song?

Thanks so much! Our fans have really enjoyed the song. Their reactions have all been positive. We have a really eclectic sound so it’s nice to know that the people that listen to our music like the up-tempo stuff as well as the slower, more acoustic driven tracks as well.

How do often do you interact with fans? On which platform?

We interact on a daily basis with people all over the world. That’s the beauty of all the platforms. Twitter provides the most personal 1 on 1 communications but Instagram and Facebook are where we can broadcast the bigger announcements and reach a larger portion of our audience.

I heard that you guys have a phone, the Rad Phone on you at all times, where fans can reach you. Is that true? If so, what was the weirdest phone call you have ever received?

Yeah we do, its pretty fun to see all the texts and voicemails. Our craziest call was from a soldier stationed in Afghanistan letting us know how big of a fan he was. That was insanely beautiful to hear that.

You were touring with Matisyahu this fall. How was it?

That was definitely the greatest 2 months of our careers. It was such a wonderful experience. Matisyahu became a mentor to us and we learned an incredible amount from being on the road with him.

Of all the Radical Something performances which one has been the most memorable? Why?

Most recently we took the stage in St. Petersburg, FL in front of 2,000 people. We had no idea what the show would be like but it blew us away. Hundreds and hundreds of screaming fans that knew every word to all of our songs. That was an amazing night.

To how many platforms do you upload your music? Which one do you find the most useful?

Too many to count. On the paid side, Spotify is the best. Free is Soundcloud.

You guys have made 19 music videos so far. Which one is your favorite? Why?

Our favorite is “Sun Down”. There was no plan. We just grabbed some wine, blankets, and some of our girlfriends and hiked with a camera to our favorite spot in Berkeley, CA. It was so real. That’s why we love it.

“Be Easy” seems to take the cake.

Do you know how many plays it has?

Not off the top of our heads. Google does though.

What do you think about the idea of an online platform that would provide the total number of plays and likes a song of yours has (regardless of how many versions exists on multiple sharing platforms uploaded by you or by someone else)?

That would be badass. You could really wrap your head around the size of your music.

What are your plans for 2015?

We have an exciting year planned. Definitely a new EP and a ton of free music along with college tours and a bunch of big summer concerts.
